New
director
Following a unanimous jury, we are delighted to announce that Philippe Guionie will be taking over as director of the Villa Pérochon this spring.
A native of Brive-La-Gaillarde, Philippe Guionie is a historian, a documentary photographer until 2018 (Agence Myop), a teacher at ETPA, a course leader at Rencontres d'Arles and an exhibition curator.
In 2015, he created the Résidence 1+2 in Toulouse, which he has directed ever since. This festival combines photography and science on a principle similar to the Encounters of Young International Photography: emerging and established artists in a spirit of sharing. His project for the Villa Pérochon is a continuation of its history (Encounters, emerging photography, community life...) while at the same time introducing new projects rooted in the Niort area.
