“Photo lab jobs”.
Once the photographer has taken the picture, what happens? How does one go from an idea to a photograph fixed on paper?
This is where the printers, whether silver or digital, come into play, helping the photographer to materialize his or her photograph. Over and above the simple printing process, the photographer’s work is enhanced by a whole range of chromatic and contrasting techniques, creating a printer-photographer duo.
Thomas Consani and Fred Jourda are printers at the Picto laboratory in Paris. Within the framework of a skills sponsorship program set up with the Villa Pérochon, they will accompany the photographers in residence for two weeks.
With over forty years’ experience, they will share the highlights of their respective careers, with an original projection of photographs by the greatest photographers of which they have made a print.
Another way to revisit the history of contemporary French and international photography!
