Les Eaux du bord
To 31 May
“We stretched our ears, our eyes and our hearts toward the voices of the river and the marsh, on the water’s edge, in the waters of the edge.”
Run-of-river installation
In 2025, La Villa Pérochon invites the Fusées collective for a unique residency aboard an electric barge. Aimed at a group of artists, this soft-mobility itinerant residency, in partnership with the Parc naturel régional du Marais poitevin, offers artists the chance to live an artistic experience on the Sèvre niortaise.
This exhibition follows on from two Artist Residencies, in March and September 2025, where we surveyed the Poitevin marshes on board an electric barge. Along the Sèvre Niortaise, but also along other waterways, we set out to meet the inhabitants, the living, the landscapes and the river structures. This slow navigation, where time stretches out, shifted our relationship to time and place. The point of view of the boat as it glided over the water shaped the way we saw and heard, what was perceptible on the surface and what we could guess underneath.
Our experience was at once contemplative and floating, but also attentive to the complexity of the territory and on the lookout for the unexpected that might emerge from reality. These questions of point of view, temporality and the shift from the real to the unreal feed the exhibition presented at Le Séchoir. Through our scenography,
, we replay artistic devices experimented in situ with different audiences during the Artist Residencies, at dawn and dusk, inviting visitors to slow down and step aside for an original, multi-sensory poetic experience.

Pascal Auclair
Geo-artist, visual artist, stage director
For him, landscapes are matter. The place where history is created, where creations are born. Landscapes – urban or rural – become stages or places for in situ creation. They inspire. They tell, content
the story. As he surveys, he collects natural and abandoned materials and transforms them into gigantic or tiny works of land-art.
