Balade chantée
Nouvelles Scènes festival
Take over the Villa!
La Villa Pérochon welcomes the Nouvelles Scènes festival for a gentle program of sung ballads inspired by the Francofolies de La Rochelle. In the beautiful setting of the art center and its garden, discover two artists on a journey of sound.
Imane El Halouat is a Moroccan singer-songwriter and producer based in Paris.
An independent artist and self-taught multi-instrumentalist, she creates a transcendental, mysterious sound world where the expression of her feelings is conveyed through heartbreakingly sincere lyrics.
Her magnificent EP “Days of Optimism”, released last March, is a collection of poignant, timeless songs in the tradition of Hope Sandoval and Vashti Bunyan.
Sailing between trip hop, rock and dub influences, the Franco-Cameroonian duo Okali nurture an instinctive, symbolist approach to musical creation.
Buoyed by the voice of singer Gaëlle, they create a score with rhythms akin to a peaceful trance, where languor has its place.
Texts imbued with humanism and love, set to music by Florent – “the other” Okali – without dogma or recipe, a combination in their image that is sincere to the extreme, striking right to the heart.
The duo will perform in an intimate acoustic format in the beautiful setting of La Villa Pérochon.
