Artist Residencies
Rencontres de la jeune photographie internationale
To 19 October
This call for bids is now closed. The call for bids for the 2027 edition will be launched in summer 2026.
The Artist Residency at Rencontres de la jeune photographie internationale takes place in Niort, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Niort is located at the gateway to the Marais Poitevin, close to the Atlantic coast between Nantes and Bordeaux.
Every year, the Artist Residency welcomes emerging international photographers with a wide range of approaches, selected on the basis of their portfolio. This year, they will be accompanied throughout their stay by Grégoire Eloyphotographer from the Tendance Floue collective.
They receive technical support from the team at La Villa Pérochon – Centre d’art contemporain photographique managed by the Pour l’Instant association. A technical center, equipped with professional equipment including a black and white silver laboratory and a digital workshop, is reserved for them. Surrounded by these facilities, photographers are invited to create and experiment. It’s a real carte blanche, stimulated by encounters, exchanges and the sharing of experiences through the very different backgrounds of each participant. It’s a unique artistic experience!
Artist Residency dates: April 3 to 20, 2026 (inclusive)
The selection jury will be chaired by Grégoire Eloy and will be made up of personalities from the various currents of contemporary photography (documentary, visual arts, etc.). The Artist Residency is open to 6 emerging international photographers, regardless of age or origin, and from all aesthetic backgrounds. For logistical reasons, only individual applications will be accepted.
