FROM A COLLECTIVE OF ENTHUSIASTS TO A CENTRE OF CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHIC ART


1989

A collective of enthusiasts get together to provide support for young photographic artists invited as residents during the “Europe of Art” festival organised by the town of Niort until 1993.


1994

The association Pour l’Instant is officially created and launches the first European Summer Photographic Encounters.


2000

The association Pour l’Instant is officially created and launches the first European Summer Photographic Encounters.


2007

The association is recognised as of general interest. The European Encounters become the Encounters of Young International Photography, so going beyond the frontiers of Europe.


2011

Recognition by the French Ministry of Culture, the Town of Niort and the Region of Poitou-Charentes of the project of Centre of Contemporary Photographic Art at Niort proposed by Pour l’Instant.


2013

Opening of the Centre of Contemporary Photographic Art – Villa Pérochon.
